Requirement for electronic filing of 1042-S

Q. Since the new regulations now require electronic reporting of 1042-S Forms if your company files 10 or more information forms and W-2s, does this also include having to file Form 1042 electronically? We now meet the threshold to file electronically, but only have a few 1042-S Forms to file. We are a community college and not a financial institution. If we are required to file 1042 electronically this year, which publication gives information on how to do it?
