Q. The software company we use to file 1042S is unable to file the 1042 electronically. For the IRS notice 2024-26, does this mean we are able to file 1042S electronically and submit the 1042 form via paper for 2023 forms required to be filed in 2024?

Yes, as a result of Notice 2024-26 you can file the two-page 2023 Form 1042 to the IRS on paper (due March 15). The requirement to file electronically still applies to your 1042-S forms for 2023…
