Vendor changed tax ID in previous calendar year

Q. We are in the process of updating bank details for one of our suppliers. Part of the process is that they need to complete a form to ensure that all our master data is correct. Supplier has provided a different tax ID, which we queried. Reason provided is they were sold to another entity in September 2023 and the parent organization could not own a S-Corporation; therefore a new entity was established using a new tax id. As this happened last September, can we update our current record with…
