Q. We have a vendor that submitted a W-9 and their tax ID starts with 99. They are an LLC S taxed as S-Corp. When I was at the fall conference, we were told if a tax id starts with 99 to pause and ask more questions. We were also told that we need to obtain an original signature foreign entities. I have asked for an original signature on the W9 and I am being questioned as to why I need that. Can you please tell me if I do? And the IRS regulation behind it? We did a TIN match and that came back…
