1042-S form and instructions

Q. I am looking for the current 1042-S on the IRS website. The instructions are dated for 2022. When I click the link for the Form 1042-S the date on the form is 2023. I am used to the year of the form being the tax year you are filing. I was expecting to see it say 2022. Why does it say 2023? A.
