IRS IRIS system vs. the FIRE system

Q. We have 1,200 1099's we file each year and are trying to decide if using the IRIS system will work better for us than the current FIRE system. In the FIRE system, we have uploaded a batch file of all our 1099s but I am not sure the IRIS system works the same way. The IRIS publication states that you can use the portal to enter information for each form or upload a CSV file. Do they also allow a batch process as the FIRE system does?
