Q. Does a disregarded entity still need to register this disregarded entity company name with the state similar to a DBA/Assumed Name? I have a company that was originally set up under the EIN for ABC Company, but now is providing me a current W-9, where the EIN is different and for XYZ Company with ABC Company in Line 2, they are telling me that they are not a DBA, but a disregarded entity and should not have registered the company name with the state.
