Conference Room Rentals and Equipment Charges: Reporting Under MISC-01

Q. We rented a conference room which I believe would fall into the MISC-01 category. We were also charged to use speakers, microphones and such. Would those items also be included in Rents? A. (Answered by IOFM's third-party tax expert) Yes, those items would likely be considered "rented" as well and should be reported in box 1 of the 1099-MISC. 113139
