Resume Instructions

Professional certifications are definitely something that you should list on your resume. There are many different ways to format resumes, but we put together some tips that may help you as you choose the best formatting for your career objectives.

  • Here's the information on your certification that you'll want to include in your resume: Name of Certification, name of certifying body, date of completion, expiration date (if applicable). When you renew, change the expiration date, but you can keep the date of completion the same. For example: Accredited Payables Manager, Institute of Finance and Management, December 2019 (Expiration date: December 2020)
  • Here's the official name for all of our designations as they should be listed on your resume. Please note that these options do not link anywhere
  • If this is your first certification, you can add it to the Education section of your resume. If you have multiple certifications, they should be separated into their own Certifications section. Remember that traditionally, these sections should be listed in reverse chronological order. A standalone Certifications section for this industry would most often be listed under the Education section.
  • If anyone ever needs to verify your certification status, they can visit our Verification page to contact us.
