Vetting a vendor in a P2P environment

Q. I am hoping your VMF expert and the Advisory Panelists can help me dig into how to vet a vendor in a P2P environment. We are trying to see how other companies do it.
Also do you know if there is anything on how the IOFM suggests to do it? I haven’t attended my P2P certification classes yet.
If your organization has a Procurement team with a complete P2P process:
Who vets the vendor – Procurement or AP?
What information is required for vetting? i.e., OFAC/OIG/Duns and Bradstreet/W-9
