Q. I work for a County Government, and our Parks Division contracts with individuals who are caretakers of the park. The reside in Mobile Homes that are owned by the County and they only pay for utility bills. For using the Mobile Home that is owned by the County, at year end, I need to issue the caretakers a 1099 for living rent free. The fair market value of the free rent is $4200 per year, and the caretakers sign a contract agreeing to receiving a 1099 and have to pay taxes on the amount.…
