Clarifying 1099-NEC Filing Deadlines and Extension Procedures for 2023 Reporting

Q. I am receiving conflicting information as to when the 20231099-NEC's are supposed to be electronically filed. I've heard 1/31/24 and 3/31/24. I also inquired about filing an extension and was told that starting this year it had to be done by USPS. Is this true?
