Q. We have a written contract with main contractor A. Their subs have not been paid. They have requested us to make checks payable to them and subcontractor B -- dual payees on one check. Our main contractor A does get a 1099 from us each year. However, we have ever only made payments to the main contractor -- until now. Who do I have to 1099? As stated, we always 1099 the main contractor; he is reportable. However, if i am making a check out to both parties, do I have to 1099 BOTH? Or does one…
