Q. Looking to determine if 1099 reporting would be required for a scenario we're encountering. We have a family trust getting setup as a supplier in our AP system to be paid for a "Personality License" fee. In reviewing the purchase agreement for this, the fee appears to be for having the rights to an individual's name, image, and likeness, the individual is deceased though which is why the payments are to a trust rather than the individual.
